Darf ich euch mein neues Spielzeug vorstellen? Das Samsung Galaxy S6! Die Inspiration für diesen Post kam von der lieben Kathrynsky, die hier über das S6 Edge berichtet hat. Über die verschiedenen Konkurrenzprodukte, z. B. die mit dem Apfel, wird eh andauernd berichtet, also will ich auch mal meine Erfahrungen weitergeben.
Anyway, ich bin ja schon sehr lange ein Samsung Kind, aber dieses Mal habe ich etwas länger überlegt. Vor ein paar Wochen stand eine Vertragsverlängerung beim magentafarbenen Riesen (ja, ich bin bisher sehr zufrieden mit dem Laden) an und es dauerte einfach, bis die Entscheidung zum S6 gefallen war. Zum einen bietet das S6 keine richtigen Neuerungen für mich. Na klar, es hat einen schnelleren Prozessor und ein besseres Display als mein bisheriges S4, aber halt auch nichts Ausschlaggebendes. Es kann halt auch (noch) keinen Kaffee kochen, Handball spielen oder Wäsche aufhängen und gleichzeitig bügeln. 😉 Zudem hat es keinen zusätzlichen Speicherkartenslot, wie mein Vorgängermodell, was mich doch am meisten gestört hat. Dass sich der Akku nicht ohne weiteres wechseln lässt, interessiert mich persönlich nicht so sehr.
Also schaute ich mir auch ein paar Alternativen an, wie Nexus bzw. Huawei, wobei mir Huawei optisch einfach nicht gefällt und das Nexus gar nicht im Rahmen der Vertragsverlängerung erhältlich war. Also blieb für mich sowieso nur Samsung – optisch gefällt es mir einfach und ich kenne ja bereits das S4 und war damit sehr zufrieden. I know, es gibt ja auch noch das S5, das hatte ich schon auch noch überlegt, aber seien wir doch mal ehrlich, wenn es eine neuere Version gibt, nehme ich dann das alte Modell!? Kurz und knapp: Ich habe mich für das Galaxy S6 (ohne Edge) mit 64GB entschieden. Für meinen Anwendungsbereich kann ich einfach keinen Vorteil vom gebogenen Display erkennen, warum sollte ich somit mehr Geld für das Edge ausgeben!? Der Speicher dürfte normalerweise auch reichen, hoffe ich zumindest.
Mittlerweile sind ein paar Tage vergangen und wir, also das S6 und ich, haben uns schon etwas aneinander gewöhnt. Beim Betriebssystem hat sich nicht viel geändert, ob Lollipop oder KitKat, so großartige Unterschiede sind nicht vorhanden. Ein großer Vorteil ist die Schnelligkeit, was das Switchen bzw. Öffnen der verschiedenen Apps betrifft. Apropos Apps – die Datenübertragung (Apps, Kontakte…) zwischen alt und neu stellte – dank Smart Switch – auch kein größeres Problem dar. Es wird mit Sicherheit noch eine gewisse Zeit nötig sein, um diverse Kleinigkeiten herauszufinden, aber bis jetzt bin ich zufrieden mit meiner Wahl. Mal schauen, was sich so tut auf dem Smartphone-Markt, und wie es in einem bzw. zwei Jahren ausschaut. Vielleicht geht es irgendwann doch wieder zurück zum Apfel?
Today I want to show you my new toy: the Samsung Galaxy S6. The inspiration for this blogpost came from Kathrynsky, who wrote about the S6 Edge, so I would like to show you my new smartphone as well. I am using Samsung for quite a long time now and I’m still satisfied with the handling, the technology and the visual appearance. A few weeks ago the extension of my contract was pending and I had to think about what to do now. I was not sure about purchasing the new Samsung Galaxy S6. Why? Well, because there aren`t any groundbreaking new features, I thought. Of course I know, the S6 is faster and has a better display than my S4 – but that’s it. One handicap for me is that there is no slot for a memory card, like the S4 still has. And you can’t switch the battery, but for me that’s not so important. I also had a look at other brands like Nexus or Huawei, but I don’t like the optical characteristics of Huawei and the Nexus was unavailable in combination with my contract extension. That brought me back to the Samsung Galaxy S6; I already know the handling and hope that 64GB are enough. After a few days I can tell you, that it was a good decision. Of course, I have to discover some more features, but the differences between Lollipop and KitKat are very small. The big advantage is the speed! Switching and opening apps is fast like a cheetah! Speaking of Apps: the transfer between old and new was very simple, thanks to Smart Switch. So at the moment I`m happy and will have a look where smart phone technology goes in the next two years.
