In London wurden letzte Nacht die in der Modewelt heiß begehrten British Fashion Awards 2013 verliehen. Letztes Jahr durften sich bereits einige bekannte Gesichter über den Preis freuen, darunter z. B. Stella McCartney als „Designer of the Year“ und „Designer Brand“, Manolo Blahnik für sein „Outstanding Achievement in Fashion“ oder auch Cara Delevingne, die den Preis als „Model“ von Ellen Von Unwerth überreicht bekam.
Auch dieses Jahr gab es natürlich wieder viele bekannte, hübsche und aufgeregte Gesichter auf dem Roten Teppich und unter den Preisträgern zu sehen. Zum einen bekam die tolle Kate Moss den Preis für ihre bemerkenswerte 25jährige Karriere und ihren Einfluss als Mode-Ikone auf die Modebranche. Kurze Info am Rand: Kate war übrigens bisher ganze 34 Mal auf dem Cover der British Vogue zu sehen!
Des Weiteren erhielt auch Suzy Menkes – ja, genau DIE Suzy Menkes – einen Sonderpreis. Aktuell ist sie für die International New York Times tätig und seit über 25 Jahren nicht mehr aus der Fashionbranche wegzudenken.
Zusätzlich gab es in diesem Jahr erstmalig die Kategorie „International Designer of the year“, die Miuccia Prada für Prada gewann. „Designer of the year“ wurden übrigens Christopher Kane im Bereich Damenmode und Christopher Bailey für Burberry im Bereich Herrenmode.

Last night the British Fashion Awards 2013 were presented in London and of course there were a lot of happy winners and beautiful faces on the red carpet. Kate Moss received a Special Recognition Award for her remarkable 25 year-long career and the continued influence on the fashion industry as fashion icon of her generation. Did you know that Kate was the world’s most prolific Vogue cover girl – she has appeared on 34 covers for British Vogue alone?
Also Suzy Menkes received a Special Recognition Award at the British Fashion Awards for her 25 year-long career at the International Herald Tribune, now The International New York Times. The ‚Designer of the year‘ award went to Christopher Kane for women’s wear and to Christopher Bailey for men’s wear. For the first time the category ‚International Designer of the year‘ was added and presented to Miuccia Prada for Prada.
